thankful but also
After my residency last last year I knew I wanted to start this year with presenting two public readings of work. I self-produced CHRCH last month and this month I’m presenting the very first reading of my play Familial Comforts. Then as it turns out I now have two additional readings of CHRCH this summer in Chicago and here in September. More on that later. I also have a reading of my play KITCHN here in July via a museum. I’m beyond thankful to get this work out there but I’m also in no rush. Since the pandemic I’ve been learning how to balance my work and self care as much as possible. I was never one to be part of grind culture. However I’m enjoying the process of writing, hearing the words breath and even the rewrites. God has unique timings and I’m still questioning some things. Overall, I’m listening.
